SMF x SCF | a blog extension

For those who weren’t aware, I have been collaborating with my beloved Roz of Sew Much Fabric on a blog since 2023! So we can call it an extension of this blog, but it’s truly its own entity. Whereas we’re just renewing the rhythm for the blog here on the SCF site, that collab is already chock full of great content.

It focuses primarily on how to customize store-bought/mass-produced patterns (because we know I’m never too far away from that ‘c’-word). Roz sends me fabric swatches and I sift through them to select a textile I’d like to pair with printed sewing pattern. Sometimes they’re your standard Vogue/Simplicity/etc. and other times they’re an indie maker. But EVERY time I refine it to make it more authentic to my person.

Make it stand out

These edits range from simple like changing the hem length on a duster to more complex like adding ties & pulls to sleeves. If you scroll, you’ll soon notice my obsession for linings — I add one to almost every project. Lol.
